Marking his move from Switzerland to New York and a new step in his career, Mixpak is pleased to announce the release of Wildlife!’s “Feverpitch” EP. Though currently finishing up his graduate studies in Contemporary Art Practice with an emphasis on Sound Installation, this 3-track EP keeps the focus strictly on the club. Drawing from the foundational Fever Pitch riddim that now operates like an island version of the Amen Break, the release sees Wildlife! adeptly melding the DNA of Caribbean music through-the-ages with a more industrial and minimalist club aesthetic. The end result is a 140bpm haven where bubbling, dembow, grime and the ghosts of dancehall and rap can all rave together. Sometimes dark and always tuff, it’s the track names that say it all – these are weapons for a sweaty dancefloor.
